I Am Looking For A Stock Option Trading Course Thats Good But Not Too Expensive, Any Ideas?
In my opinion it would be a mistake to try to learn everything you need to know about options trading through a course. Here is what I recommend you do.
First, take advantage of the introductory option tutorials and classes offered by the CBOE and the OIC. You can find the material athttp://www.cboe.com/LearnCenter/default….
andhttp://www.optionseducation.org/
If you have questions you can ask them on a message board such ashttp://messages.yahoo.com/Business_%26_F…
orhttp://www.elitetrader.com/vb/forumdispl…
Note Well: Free classes offered by other organizations are often simply sales pitches. The free offering from “Options University” appears to be, at least in part, a sales patch. They teach you to make money you need to by their software, classes and/or data services. (You may actually learn some valuable information about options as well, depending on the organization, but don’t count on it.)
Second, read at least one good book about options. The on-line educational material should be enough to help you evaluate books. My two favorites at “Options as a Strategic Investment” by Lawrence McMillan and “Option Volatility & Pricing” by Sheldon Natenberg.
Third, if you still want to attend a class after reading at least one good book I recommend you consider one of the classes from the Options Institute listed athttp://www.cboe.com/LearnCenter/Seminars…
or possibly a class from a local community college if available.
Remember there are no secrets in options trading. All techniques for making money and controlling risk are common knowledge readily available in many different books. Anyone implying they will teach you the “secrets” of options trading is already misleading you and not someone you want to trust.
